In recent weeks ‘Executive Orders’ and “Negotiated Proclamations” have been issued by some of the most powerful people in the world and the results have been very significant. Usually, such powerful documents are political or military or economic in nature but today let’s look at one of the most significant of all time. This document was auto biographical, issued by none other than King Nebuchadnezzar himself, sovereign over the Babylonian empire.
The opening paragraph of this remarkable document is unlike any other I’ve ever read: “King Nebuchadnezzar, to the nations and peoples of every language who live in all the world. May you prosper greatly. It is my pleasure to tell you about the miraculous signs and wonders that the Most High God has performed for me. How great are HIS signs, how mighty HIS wonders! His kingdom is an eternal kingdom; His dominion endures from generation to generation.” (Daniel 4:1-3)
