Perhaps you’re asking, what in the world is the ‘ides of March’? Good question… I’ve heard the phrase before, and I too wondered. So, this morning I did what everyone does in our day when looking for information, I ‘googled it’ and here’s what I found: 
 
The Roman general and statesman Julius Caesar was assassinated by conspiring members of the Roman senate, notably including Marcus Brutus, on March 15 in 44 BCE. Caesar became a dictator after causing a civil war. His rule, and murder, effectively ended the Roman republic—and changed the course of history. Caesar’s assassination would eventually lead to the founding of the Roman Empire by Caesar’s nephew Octavian, better known as Emperor Augustus.
